Manufacturing Engineer - 12 months FTC

Responsibilities of Position:
X Drives continual improvement using HOS (Honeywell Operating System) incorporating Six Sigma methodology on all manufacturing methods and processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
X Ensure new product introduction carried out through APQP, PEP and PPAP processes.
X Works to internal Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures, continually seeking to improve the department's method of work.
X Maintains records, drawings (and other machine or facilities drawings), and documents to provide a record which is archived and accessible to the company, as per ISOTS 16949, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 requirements.
X Identification of continual improvement opportunities through root cause analysis, our kaizen process and other problem solving techniques.
X Facilitate the utilisation and edition of FMEA and Control plans.
X Responsible for procurement of Final assembly equipment and tooling for new processes that comply with UK PUWE Regulations.
X Maintenance of existing tooling and processes.
X Process improvement to increase OEE through availability, performance and quality coefficients.
X Required to support VSR correlation activities with the CHRA and VSR engineer.
X Control of Capital - initial proposal, specification and budget control.
X Any other duties not specified as required by the business.
Position Scope:
X No Supervisory responsibility.
X No Financial Responsibility.
X Part of the engineering department including product, maintenance, facilities and manufacturing engineers.

Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:

X Exposure to medium or high volume automotive or other component manufacture/assembly.
X Working knowledge of modern assembly and machining processes.
X Understanding of either Lean/Kaizen methodologies.
Experience/Education Required/Sought:
X Engineering degree preferred but not essential.
X A minimum of two years' current manufacturing engineering experience within an automotive or light engineering environment.
X A second language of either French or Italian would be advantageous but not essential.
X IOSH Managing safely qualification with Machinery Safety Module (Pilz).
